  • Carolyn White shows off her "Sheep to Sweater." She watched the sheep being sheared then she washed, combed and ran through a drum carder to add the tweed flecks, She hand spun the yarn using a long draw on her double treadle spinning wheel. She then knit the cardigan and spun more yarn when she ran out. This was her first fleece. All of this for $20 of raw wool.
